Spotify Celebrates Taylor Swift’s Most Anticipated Album Yet With an Immersive Fan Experience in NYC

Swifties, get ready. To celebrate the upcoming release of Taylor Swift’s The Life of a Showgirl, Spotify is inviting fans to step into a dazzling three-day immersive activation in New York City.

“The Life of a Showgirl: A Spotify Experience” will run from September 30 through October 2 (noon to 9 p.m. ET daily), welcoming fans to discover hidden Easter eggs and capture exclusive photo moments, all inspired by the album. It’s a chance for listeners to experience the next era before it officially arrives, surrounded by the music and visuals that have shaped their anticipation. (Artist will not be in attendance.)

This three-day event is the latest chapter in a global campaign designed to build anticipation for The Life of a Showgirl and bring fans closer to the music.

It all began at 12:12 a.m. on August 12, when a bright orange-and-mint green billboard lit up Times Square with a mysterious Spotify code. Within minutes, fans were scanning, sharing, and listening. The activation was part of a broader rollout across 12 locations worldwide, with each billboard linking to a curated playlist on Taylor’s official Spotify profile.

In the weeks that followed, Taylor revealed the tracklist, launched exclusive merch, and introduced a pre-save meter on her website. As fans reached new milestones, they unlocked a series of Spotify Clips that offered a first look into the world of The Life of a Showgirl.

On Spotify, the Upcoming Releases hub has proven to be an important destination for fans to follow and support their favorite artists—Taylor included. With The Life of a Showgirl, Spotify is helping turn anticipation into a global fan experience online, on the street, and soon, in person.

Spotify Teams Up With Martin Garrix, PinkPantheress, SOFI TUKKER, and More to Debut Mixed Playlists With Seamless Transitions

Last month, Spotify introduced the ability for Premium users to mix their own playlists with transitions so every track flows smoothly into the next. Now that the feature (in beta) has fully rolled out to all eligible Premium users, some of the world’s top DJs and producers are showing what’s possible.

Head to our new Mixed Playlists hub on Spotify to hear exclusive mixed playlists from artists like Martin Garrix, PinkPantheress, SOFI TUKKER, Chris Lake, Steve Aoki, WizTheMc, Romy, Don Diablo, Pete Tong, Fcukers, and DJ Seinfeld, as well as globally renowned clubs, collectives, and more. Whether you’re looking for a workout soundtrack, a party starter, or inspiration for your own mixes, these playlists are a masterclass in smooth transitions.

Just added: Swedish House Mafia has released an exclusive mixed playlist featuring extended tracks and special edits, giving fans a chance to relive their recent Arthur Ashe show in New York. Listen here.

Ready to try mixing your own playlist?

Open your Spotify app and select a playlist you’ve created (or make a new one), then tap “Mix” from the toolbar and start experimenting.

Once you’ve created your unique playlist, just hit “Save.” You can share your playlist, or even collaborate on it with friends who are also Premium users. There’s also an option to toggle the mix on and off at any time by pressing the “Mix” button.

Three tips to help you mix like the pros

1. Try the presets for easy experimentation.

Not sure where to start? Tap a preset like “Fade” or “Rise” to let Spotify do the heavy lifting. Presets combine volume, effects, and EQ (equalizer) settings to help you get a feel for what works.

2. Match BPM and key for the smoothest sound.

Songs might feel like they go together, but for the smoothest transitions, check that the BPM (beats per minute) and key are similar. You’ll see that data in the playlist and Edit transition view—use it to scan and stack like a pro.

3. Keep the flow, set the tone.

Is your mix a slow burn or a dancefloor sprint? Arrange your tracks to build energy, shift moods, and take listeners on a journey. Great playlists don’t just play, they perform.

Celebrating 10 Years of Spotify’s Viva Latino Playlist and the Global Rise of Latin Music

A decade ago, Latin music made up just 8% of global Spotify streams. Today, it accounts for more than a quarter (27%) of all listening worldwide—a testament to the artists and fans who have fueled its unstoppable rise.

Now celebrating its 10th anniversary, Viva Latino, Spotify’s flagship Latin music playlist, has been at the center of this evolution. Launched in 2015 as one of the first major Latin music playlists on a streaming platform, Viva Latino has helped connect listeners to new voices, genre-defining anthems, and the next wave of global superstars. In that time, global Latin music streams have grown by over 2,500% on Spotify, representing an increase of more than 587 billion streams.

At its heart, Viva Latino is about celebrating the artists who are defining the sound of a generation and the fans who make every song a movement. Spotify’s music editors curate the playlist to spotlight rising stars, honor established icons, and capture the moments that matter most to the Latin music community. More than just a playlist, Viva Latino has been a bridge, exporting identity, sounds, and culture to the world.

“Viva Latino’s influence on the global Latin music landscape over the last decade is unmatched,” said Antonio Vazquez, Head of US Latin Editorial, Spotify. “Over the years, the playlist has become one of the most recognized destinations for Latin music and a synonym for Latin hits. It has opened doors and served as a catalyst for the success of so many Latin artists who are now global superstars, and we couldn’t be more proud to have created those connections and helped tell their stories. Viva Latino is in constant evolution, and I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years will bring.”

Spotlighting breakthroughs and cultural shifts

Viva Latino has played a key role in surfacing hits before they topped the charts. For instance, Anitta’s “Envolver” appeared on the playlist 132 days before hitting No. 1 globally; Myke Towers’ “LALA” 99 days before; and Xavi’s “La Diabla” 29 days before. For artists like KAROL G and Rauw Alejandro, early playlist support helped introduce their music to new audiences and set the stage for global stardom.

As Latin music has evolved, so has Viva Latino, reflecting the rise of corridos tumbados, Música Mexicana, and other genres now making waves worldwide.

A decade of impact

Viva Latino has helped redefine the reach of Latin music. Here are just a few highlights from its first decade:

    • Viva Latino is now one of Spotify’s top five playlists globally.
    • Listeners have streamed the playlist for more than 595 million hours since 2017.
    • La Bachata” by Manuel Turizo holds the record for the longest run on Viva Latino (33 months), followed by:
    • “Hey Mor” by Feid and Ozuna is the most-streamed song in Viva Latino history.
    • Beéle’s breakthrough: Within a month of his Viva Latino debut in 2019, Beéle’s streams surged by 168%.

A platform for artists, a community for fans

As Viva Latino turns 10, we’re celebrating the talented artists and passionate fans who have made the playlist a global destination, and we’re looking ahead to even more discoveries, anthems, and milestones.

10 Wild Card Tracks Join Spotify’s Songs of Summer 2025 Editorial Picks

The days are longer, the nights are warmer, and the soundtrack of summer keeps evolving. Back in May, Spotify’s global editors kicked off the season with our annual Songs of Summer predictions, blending cultural expertise, editorial instinct, and streaming data to spotlight contenders for this year’s defining anthems.

But summer never stands still. Now that we’re halfway through the season, our editors are shaking up the list with 10 new “wild card” tracks—songs released since our initial reveal or experiencing a recent surge in global streams. These wild cards reflect what’s resonating with listeners right now, capturing the moments and moods dominating culture across the globe. For example, global streams of “Illegal” by PinkPantheress shot up 155% on Spotify in the last month, while Sabrina Carpenter’s “Manchild” and Addison Rae’s “Fame is a Gun” both charted on Spotify’s Global Top 50 following their releases.

From high-speed dance floor bangers to bold main-character anthems, this year’s wild cards cut across genres and tap into the euphoric feeling of summer. There’s breezy optimism, infectious energy, and a few surprises along the way.

Whether it’s the innovative production of ‘No Broke Boys’ or the intensity of ‘ALAMBRE PùA,’ each of these songs has captured a specific energy that listeners are gravitating toward right now. They represent the diverse sounds and stories shaping the season across borders.”

A summer celebration in Los Angeles

To toast summer’s next musical moment, Spotify’s annual Songs of Summer party landed Wednesday in Beverly Hills, featuring performances from Ravyn Lenae and Jessie Murph—two artists making waves on this year’s list.

Spotify and Travis Barker Team Up to Host Run Travis Run Races Across the U.S.

After legendary blink-182 drummer and producer Travis Barker survived a horrific, life-threatening plane crash in 2008, his doctors told him he may never walk or play the drums the same again. Travis started on his journey to overall wellness, which included daily runs, to motivate himself and prove the doctors wrong.

Travis’s commitment to fitness led to his starting a series of Run Travis Run races, which evolved into a mission to inspire others in their personal journeys of physical, mental, and overall wellness.

To help amplify the momentum, Spotify and Run Travis Run are teaming up this fall to unite fans and runners alike with energizing 5K events in four cities:

September 20: Chicago

October 5: Palm Springs

October 18: Las Vegas

November 9: Santa Monica

Produced by sports and experiential marketing agency Mascot Sports, these races will merge Travis’s high-energy world with Spotify’s passion for helping fans find connection and community through music. Ahead of the fall races, Spotify and Run Travis Run will also launch a social campaign that explores the blink-182 drummer’s love for wellness and music.

And to help fans train for the 5Ks, we’re adding one more to the list with the launch of the official Run Travis Run playlist, curated by Travis himself.

“I’m always hyped to bring Run Travis Run to the public. It’s about community, getting people moving, being outside, and feeling connected,” Travis said. “Music has always been a part of my life. Every genre means something to me in a different way. I built this Spotify playlist with my go-to tracks for working out. Hope it fuels you.”

Featuring a high-voltage blend of punk, hardcore, breakbeat, and hip-hop, the playlist helps runners get into a zone with the help of songs like Death Grips’ “Guillotine,” Refused’s “New Noise,” and The Prodigy’s “Firestarter.”

Top Spotify fans get early access to Run Travis Run tickets

Starting on July 22, top Travis Barker fans in each host city will receive an early-access invite from Spotify prompting them to purchase a ticket to the event. An artist presale will begin on July 23, followed by general sales opening on July 25.

“I probably had more fun doing this than anything else I’ve done in the past couple of years,” James said. “I had to really think about who they were as people and imagine what kind of music they’d be into.”
