Meet Spotify’s RADAR Creators Global Class of 2025, the Next Wave of Podcast Talent

At Spotify, we’re all about supporting rising talent and helping them connect with fans worldwide. Our RADAR program is designed to do just that, and this year’s global class of RADAR Creators is bigger, more diverse, and more innovative than ever.

This annual list spotlights the most promising emerging creators who are making waves and defining the future of the medium. RADAR combines marketing, editorial, and promotional support to help emerging creators reach new audiences and deepen listener connections.

First launched in 2020 to champion up-and-coming artists, RADAR has since grown to include support for songwriters and podcast creators. Since its pilot in 2022, RADAR Creators has supported more than 120 shows globally. Over the years, several RADAR creators have gone on to become breakout names—like Good Children, where childhood best friends Joe Hegyes and Andrew Muscarella unpack the side effects of being a little too well-behaved.

This year, we’ve expanded the program to feature creators in 11 countries, podcasting in multiple languages and across popular genres, including true crime, digital culture, sports, entertainment, knowledge, and wellness. From Scott Evans inviting guests into his home on House Guest for honest, unscripted conversations to the Tiger SistersCherie Brooke Luo and Jean Luo—blending late-night sister talk with boardroom strategy, this dynamic group embodies the vibrant culture of podcasting. The Class of 2025 is also pushing the boundaries of what a podcast can be, with many innovating in video, a format that has skyrocketed in popularity since becoming available on Spotify.

“RADAR Creators are shaping the future of podcasting,” said Jordan Newman, Head of Content Partnerships at Spotify. “They’re redefining what storytelling sounds and looks like, connecting with audiences in new and meaningful ways.”

5 Years and 1,000 Artists Later: How Spotify RADAR Supports Emerging Talent on the Path to Global Stardom

In 2020, Spotify launched RADAR with a clear mission: to identify, nurture, and amplify the next generation of global music talent. What began as a program for emerging artists soon expanded to include support for songwriters and creators, solidifying RADAR’s place as the global home for what’s next in sound. Through RADAR, Spotify bets confidently on new voices and provides resources and opportunities to help rising stars flourish.

Today, we’re excited to share a major milestone: RADAR has now supported more than 1,000 artists since launch.

This isn’t just a number; it’s a chance to celebrate the global impact RADAR artists have made and to reaffirm Spotify’s commitment to supporting them at every stage of their careers. RADAR artists benefit from on- and off-platform opportunities, including editorial support, exclusive content, and personalized marketing plans. Each region tailors its RADAR offerings to reflect local music culture and audience needs, ensuring artists receive support that resonates in their home countries and beyond.

With a presence in all 183 countries where Spotify operates, RADAR champions talent from every corner of the music world. We’re proud to provide a platform that connects artists with new fans and helps them build thriving careers.

Spotlighting RADAR artist journeys

Ambition, talent, and breakthrough moments have defined RADAR’s journey to 1,000 artists. Spanning genres, cultures, and continents, these artists are shaping the future of music, using RADAR as a launchpad for opportunity and growth.

Here are just a few examples of RADAR alums who are making their mark worldwide:

Peso Pluma: From regional star to global phenomenon

Peso Pluma

Peso Pluma was named a RADAR US artist in May 2023, just as Música Mexicana was exploding in the market. At the time, he was already making waves—holding the No. 4 spot on Spotify’s Top Artists globally, thanks in part to his hit single with Eslabon Armado, “Ella Baila Sola,” which had just climbed to the top of both our US and global charts. Within a month of joining RADAR, his monthly listeners jumped by 55%, with export streams up 154% and editorial streams up 116%. Now the most-streamed RADAR artist of all time, Peso Pluma’s journey shows how the program can help artists seize a cultural moment and reach new heights.

aespa: K-Pop redefined

aespa

Girl group aespa joined the RADAR Korea roster in November 2020, the same month they made their explosive debut with “Black Mamba.” Their debut single stormed the Billboard Global Chart (excluding the US) within three days, setting a new record for a K-Pop debut. RADAR helped supercharge their momentum: In just one month, aespa’s monthly listeners jumped by 1,433%, with export streams up 2,389% and editorial streams up an incredible 14,132%. Fast-forward to 2025, and aespa now boasts more than 10 million monthly listeners. Their success highlights how RADAR can help turn a breakout debut into lasting impact.

Rachel Chinouriri: Indie-pop on the rise

Rachel Chinouriri

Since joining RADAR UK & Ireland over a year ago, indie-pop artist Rachel Chinouriri has seen her streams jump 155%, her followers rise by 95%, and her monthly listeners climb from 1.4 million to 4.3 million. Her active audience doubled, showing a real boost in loyal fans. During her first year, she recorded two Spotify Singles, picked up two BRIT Award nominations, and sold out headline shows in New York and LA. Her story shows how RADAR can help artists grow their international audiences.

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers: Aussie rock, amplified

Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers

Australian rock band Teen Jesus and the Jean Teasers have journeyed through multiple Spotify programs, from Fresh Finds to GLOW to RADAR. Six months after joining RADAR, they saw a 224% increase in monthly listeners and a 54% rise in followers. They went on to win an ARIA for Breakthrough Artist and support Pearl Jam on tour in Australia and the US—with an upcoming performance at Austin City Limits in Texas slated for later this year.

As the band put it: “Being a RADAR artist brought us to so many new audiences. We’ve been able to go to America, go overseas, and seeing our faces on playlist covers is crazy—really incredible.”

RADAR Italia Celebrates 5 Years of Success With a New Class of Rising Stars

Since popping up in 2020, RADAR Italia has not only supported emerging artists but also reflected the cultural and musical richness of Italy. Over the past five years, it has spotlighted more than 40 rising talents, helping them grow and often gain international recognition. In turn, these diverse voices have made Italy’s music scene more inclusive, representative, and attuned to a new generation of fans with their unique sounds.

“This anniversary is a chance to celebrate the achievements of the many artists who have been part of the program. For five years, RADAR Italia has been a reference point for emerging talent, offering not just visibility but also concrete tools to grow and carve out a space in music,” said Melanie Parejo, Head of Music for South and Eastern Europe at Spotify. “But our commitment goes beyond selection: We support them at every stage of their journey, helping build authentic connections with audiences and explore new creative opportunities. RADAR is a bridge between artists and the millions of listeners looking for new voices and stories to discover.”

RADAR Italia has served as a launchpad for many artists, with the likes of BLANCO, Mara Sattei, Tony Boy, ARIETE, and Rhove representing some of the most influential voices in Italian music today.

On average, our featured RADAR Italia artists experience over a 100% increase in streams and an almost 200% increase in listeners within a year of joining the program. That includes BigMama, who went from 11,000 monthly listeners before joining RADAR Italia in 2021 to over 800,000 listeners by the time she took the stage at Sanremo in 2024.

“Being part of Spotify RADAR was a milestone in my career, and I hope it will be the same for the young artists selected this year,” said BigMama. “Most importantly, the collaboration with Spotify doesn’t end when the program does—it continues over time, because when you become part of RADAR, you’re part of a family forever.”

Celebrating five years with RADAR Italia’s Class of 2025

To mark the fifth anniversary of RADAR Italia, Casa Spotify hosted a special event to both reflect on the program’s achievements and present the artists featured in the 2025 edition: Marte, Carla Hero, Emma Nolde, Glocky, Sayf, and camoufly.

Spotify’s Heart & Soul Initiative Brings Mental Health Support to Artists and Creators Worldwide

In 2018, Spotify launched Heart & Soul, a mental health initiative developed to provide support and promote deep knowledge about emotional well-being.

As conversations around mental health take center stage in the music industry, Spotify is deepening its commitment to artist well-being through our Heart & Soul, Mental Health for Creators initiative. In partnership with leading nonprofits, this global effort aims to provide meaningful support, challenge cultural norms, and ensure that artists, songwriters, and their teams can access the help they need—when they need it.

“Heart & Soul is our commitment to the creators behind the music. Artists and songwriters face immense pressure, and their mental health can’t be an afterthought,” said Lauren Siegal Wurgaft, Head of Social Impact, Spotify. “Supporting creators’ well-being is essential to sustaining a vibrant music ecosystem. By working closely with trusted partners like Backline, we’re not just offering resources, we’re helping drive lasting change in how the industry approaches mental health.”

Here’s how we’re putting that promise into action:

Financial Support

Spotify is providing direct financial support to help expand the impact of the following organizations: Backline (including Chappell Roan’s WE GOT YOU! fund), MusiCares, Music Health Alliance, Music Minds Matter, and Noah Kahan’s The Busyhead Project.

Expanding Access to Care

Together with Backline and Music Minds Matter, Spotify is funding grants to enable one-to-one therapy for current and upcoming EQUAL, GLOW, and RADAR ambassadors in the U.S. and U.K. Artist ambassadors from these programs will be given grants through partners that directly cover the cost of therapy that they can use themselves or gift to other artists in their bands or members of their teams.

Backline x Spotify: Supporting Artists Worldwide

We’re making mental health care easier to find and faster to access for creators. Spotify is proud to partner with Backline on the launch of their new global resource hub, an international, multilingual database featuring trusted music industry and mental health support resources and crisis lines from around the world.

“Backline is honored to serve as a steward of Spotify’s investment into the creative community,” said Hilary Gleason, Cofounder and Executive Director, Backline. “Bringing our work to scale is a meaningful way to uplift the well-being of artists all around the world. This collaboration is taking these invaluable mental health and wellness resources beyond borders. Music knows no bounds, and now people who make music happen have access to care and a compassionate community. Our work together will help ensure that artists have the resources, support, and stability they need to thrive both personally and professionally.”

To provide more personalized pathways to care, Backline has also launched global@backline.care, a dedicated concierge email service that provides one-on-one support to help individuals navigate local care options and mental health systems in their countries.

Bringing Wellness on the Road

We’re partnering with Backline and The Busyhead Project to meet artists where they are—in studios and backstage at major festivals like All Things Go NYC—through on-site wellness activations, self-care kits, and guided workshops designed to bring calm to the chaos.

Delivering Everyday Tools for Mental Health

Through our new Heart & Soul, Mental Health for Creators hub on Spotify, creators can access curated playlists, podcasts, and audiobooks specifically designed to support their well-being.

Spotlighting Stories That Support Creators

Across Spotify for Artists and Spotify Songwriting, we’ll spotlight real mental health stories from the creative community and offer resources, reflections, and tools that resonate.

Holding Space for Songwriters

We’re creating spaces for connection and conversation around mental health in songwriting—through intimate dinners and studio residencies that bring songwriters together around mental health themes.

“The mental health challenges artists face are real and the current support systems often fall short,” said Monica Herrera Damashek, Head of Artist and Label Partnerships, Spotify. “It’s on all of us in the industry to respond with action. Spotify is expanding its Heart & Soul for Creators initiative by helping Backline scale its Mental Health & Wellness Global Resource hub internationally for the first time and by offering one-to-one therapy access to EQUAL, GLOW, and RADAR ambassadors in the U.S. and U.K. This is only one step, and we’ll continue to build a more supported environment for the artists who shape culture every day.”

Spotify’s Heart & Soul initiative represents a significant step forward in our enduring commitment to artists and creators. By providing direct financial support, expanding access to vital care, and integrating wellness into the everyday lives of musicians, we aim to foster an industry where mental health is prioritized, understood, and supported. This is an ongoing journey, and we are committed to working collaboratively to create a more sustainable and compassionate ecosystem for the individuals who bring the world’s music to life.

82 Artists, 10 Countries, Limitless Sounds: Meet the RADAR Asia Class of 2025

The sounds of Asia are as diverse and vibrant as the continent itself. From the lively beats of Indonesian pop to the gritty rhymes of Pinoy hip-hop, the region is brimming with musical innovation.

Since 2020, Spotify has helped artists across Asia chart their paths to stardom through RADAR, our global program to support emerging talent. Now we’re thrilled to introduce the RADAR Asia class of 2025. Featuring 82 artists, the class represents Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and Taiwan.

These artists span a range of styles and genres, reflecting the continent’s rich musical landscape. Representing RADAR Indonesia, acts like The Lantis evoke the nostalgia of ’80s Indonesian pop, while Aftershine brings the beautiful sound of Javanese pop to the forefront.

“RADAR is motivation. It fuels our passion, pushes us to dream bigger, and reminds us that every song we create has the potential to reach someone, somewhere,” said indie pop band The Lantis. “It’s a reminder that our music matters, that our stories resonate, and that there are listeners out there waiting to connect with what we create.”

With T-pop on the rise, RADAR Thailand welcomes groups like LYKN and FLIRT, as well as alt-rock duo SHERRY.

“We’re truly honored to be part of this year’s RADAR Thailand lineup,” said SHERRY. “Spotify is all about its users and creatives. It allows us to highlight our hard work and craft to a bigger audience in Thailand and beyond. We can’t wait to show our fans what we have in store for them in 2025.”

To the east, RADAR Philippines welcomes Pinoy female rapper Zae and Baguio-raised indie band Dilaw, among others, while pop and hip-hop acts such as Ánh Sáng AZA and CoolKid join RADAR Vietnam.

RADAR 新勢力, which is dedicated to the wider Mandopop space, welcomes newcomers like 艾蜜莉AMILI and Eileen Yo游宇潼. And in Japan, where RADAR is locally known as Early Noise, the 2025 class includes AKASAKI and Billyrrom. Finally, from the home of K-Pop, rookie group MEOVV is RADAR Korea’s first featured artist of the year.

“Music and culture are always evolving, and at Spotify, we’re here to celebrate that,” said Kossy Ng, Spotify Head of Music, Southeast Asia, Hong Kong & Taiwan. “With RADAR, we’re excited to shine a light on the breadth of incredible rising talents in Asia that span different genres and sounds. There’s so much to discover and something for everyone. We’re committed to supporting artists for the long haul, helping music from Asia reach fans all over the world.”

As part of the program, RADAR artists receive Spotify support through a dedicated playlist and special editorial placement. This support is clearly making waves in Asia and beyond. Globally, five of Spotify’s top 10 RADAR artists last year came from the Philippines. In Korea, meanwhile, last year’s RADAR artists saw a 34% boost in their average daily streams in the six months following their entry into the program. Bernadya is another success story: The 2023 RADAR Indonesia artist experienced a stunning 91% surge in monthly listeners a year after joining the program and became Spotify Indonesia’s top artist of 2024. This momentum continues across the region, with our RADAR Vietnam playlist boasting more than 70% international streams.

The results speak for themselves: One year after joining, RADAR Spain artists see their songs’ average global streams grow by nearly 70%, while their average listeners increase by more than 90%. In total, RADAR Spain artists have been added to playlists on Spotify more than 10,700 times, and nearly 300,000 listeners have discovered them for the first time through our RADAR Spain playlist.

Now, as we celebrate this milestone, we’re thrilled to introduce the next generation of artists poised to redefine Spain’s music scene: Julieta, Barry B, Vera GRV, céro, and LUSILLON. These five emerging talents were unveiled at a special event at Madrid’s Teatro Eslava, complete with live performances that marked RADAR Spain’s first-ever local concert.

As part of the program, all will receive on- and off-platform support, including special editorial placement, exclusive content opportunities, and personalized marketing plans, to help them connect with new fans.

“We’re proud to celebrate the fifth anniversary of RADAR Spain and its impact on local talent and the next generation of young artists,” said Melanie Parejo, Head of Music for Southern and Eastern Europe at Spotify. “Since launch, we’ve supported emerging talent and helped grow their careers—but our commitment extends far beyond the program. We continue to support them throughout their journeys, strengthening their connection with fans and new audiences. Seeing early RADAR Spain artists now topping the charts is the best proof of success. This initiative also benefits listeners by bringing them closer to artists who may become their future favorites.”

Ready to meet this year’s lineup? Here’s the scoop on the RADAR Spain class of 2025.

Hailing from Catalonia, Julieta has earned the nickname “the Catalan dream” for her blend of electronic, pop, and urban sounds. Her lyrics are resonating with a new generation of listeners, making her one of the most promising voices in Spanish pop.

RADAR Türkiye Celebrates 1 Year With a New Class of 5 Genre-Bending Artists

It’s been a year since RADAR, Spotify’s program to spotlight rising talent from around the world, launched in Türkiye. During this time, our RADAR Türkiye playlist became one of the most successful editions of the program globally, amassing nearly 30,000 saves to date. The RADAR Türkiye class of 2023 is also riding a wave of momentum, with Böyleyken Böyle, Ege Can Sal, Paptircem, Selin, and Sena Şahin seeing an average 50% increase in their follower bases over the past year.

We recently launched our second edition of RADAR Türkiye, featuring Baran Mengüç, Ceren Sagu, Lotusx, Rana Türkyılmaz, and TUANA. As part of the program, all are included on our RADAR Türkiye playlist while receiving additional playlist support and off-platform promotion.

These five artists showcase the range of sounds reflected in the country’s latest listening trends. For years, pop and hip-hop dominated the local charts, but Spotify data now reveals a resurgence of alternative genres like rock, alt-pop, and arabesk—reimagined for a younger audience. Cross-genre collaborations and the integration of local cultural motifs are enriching Türkiye’s music landscape, with influences ranging from Turkish folk to electronic music.

“We are proud to be supporting another selection of Turkish artists, who are greatly inspired by different music styles as well as art, digital culture, and what is happening in the international music scene,” said Fırat Tekaüt, Artist and Label Partnerships Manager at Spotify. “As future voices of the music scene, I have no doubt that their unique visions and diverse backgrounds will contribute greatly to Türkiye’s evolving and interconnected music landscape. After all, it’s this very diversity and constant change that shapes both the Turkish music scene and the trends we see on our platform.”

Keep reading to get to know these rising stars.

Baran Mengüç

A multifaceted artist spanning pop, R&B, and traditional Turkish sounds, Baran Mengüç incorporates classical Turkish instruments into his music, creating a unique fusion that he calls “Ottoman Pop.”

Ceren Sagu

Ceren Sagu brings a youthful spin to arabesk, a genre traditionally associated with older generations, by blending it with modern trap beats, showcasing the resurgence of interest in this style among younger listeners.

Lotusx

Blending hyperpop with modern hip-hop and introspective lyrics, Lotusx continues to appeal to Gen Z’s love for emotional, genre-blending tracks.

Rana Türkyılmaz

Rana Türkyılmaz got her start channeling ’90s and ’00s rock nostalgia—but with a fresh indie twist. One to watch in Türkiye’s rock scene, she’s capturing the hearts of local rock enthusiasts.

TUANA

TUANA is transitioning from dance-pop to an alternative indie sound, in tandem with the growing interest in cross-genre experimental music among younger listeners.

But as more creators experiment and engage audiences through both video and audio, we want to be inclusive of all the ways they’re expressing their creativity. That’s why we’re evolving RADAR Podcasters into RADAR Creators, reflecting our commitment to supporting creators across all formats on Spotify. In addition, we’re expanding the reach of RADAR Creators to several new markets: the U.S., Australia, Sweden, France, Italy, Spain, Brazil, and Mexico.

To kick off RADAR Creators, we’re announcing our U.S. Class of 2024. Featuring diverse and engaging voices, these five shows cover topics that span pop culture, sports, wellness, true crime, and comedy.

Here’s the scoop on the new RADAR Creators class.

Joy of Missing Out

After spending their twenties working for other people, Chloe Shih and Eric Wei are betting on themselves as they navigate their thirties. With their video podcast Joy of Missing Out, the two hosts provide listeners with a fresh and engaging perspective on taking “the road less traveled” and not conforming to societal expectations.

I’m Right You’re Wrong

We all have those friends we love to get into debates with over brunch. And every week on I’m Right You’re Wrong, hosts Isa Medina—who previously cohosted the hit podcast Sounds Like a Cult—and Lydia Keating explore the ethical questions that people in their twenties and thirties face every day by picking a side and engaging in a humorous debate. So if you’re unsure of where you land on nepo babies, or whether dating a friend’s ex is right or wrong, this is the video podcast for you.

Small Ball with Kenny Beecham

A self-described NBA super fan, Kenny Beecham has built up a dedicated following as a video creator who talks all things basketball. With a new season of hoops around the corner, Small Ball with Kenny Beecham is back to keep you up-to-date on all the action.

Black People Love Paramore

Every Thursday, Black People Love Paramore explores the niche interests of Black people that might seem random at first glance but are definitely a thing. From anime to Tony Hawk to title inspiration Paramore, host Sequoia Holmes aims to make Black listeners feel seen and connected through this lighthearted, Webby Award–nominated dive into pop culture.

PRETEND

PRETEND offers a fresh approach on the true crime genre by uncovering the stories of the most notorious scams and con jobs. Host Javier Leiva pulls back the curtain on cult leaders and undercover FBI agents, exposing the transgressive masterminds who pretended to be someone they weren’t.
