The 2025 Wrapped Guide for Artists, Songwriters, Creators, Authors, and Advertisers

Spotify Wrapped is the moment when hundreds of millions of fans around the world get to look back on their year in audio. But the celebration doesn’t stop with listeners. It extends across the entire Spotify ecosystem.

This year, we’re once again providing personalized Wrapped experiences for artists, songwriters, podcast creators, authors, and advertisers. With access to their own microsites, they can dive into how their work resonated with fans and audiences in 2025 and get unique, shareable data stories to post across their social channels.

Here’s what’s in store for each group.

For artists and songwriters

For the ninth year, we’re helping artists celebrate their year on Spotify and connect with their biggest fans. This year’s Wrapped for Artists experience is more intuitive than ever, with new data stories that give a deeper look into how an artist’s music resonated with listeners. We’ve also streamlined things so it’s easy to jump between stories and share faster.

New stories for 2025 include Top Albums and Super Listeners, which highlight the outsized impact of an artist’s most dedicated fans. Artists will also discover which of the new Wrapped Clubs their music belongs to and see Accolades—like “The Party Starter” and “The Early Riser”—which are determined by the streaming moments when their tracks really over-indexed with fans. Every data story includes a share card, making it easy for artists to highlight where their music was heard, how it grew, and whom it connected with.

For songwriters with an active Songwriter Page, Wrapped for Songwriters returns with a personalized, shareable overview of the year. We’ll also be celebrating songwriters across our social channels with behind-the-scenes content and more.

Artists can explore their 2025 Wrapped by heading to Spotify for Artists.

For creators

From chart-topping storytellers to emerging talent, audio and video creators on Spotify are driving the cultural conversation. Wrapped for Creators is our annual moment to celebrate the people behind the mic (and camera) and the loyal fans who tuned in.

This year’s experience transforms creator data into personal storytelling, highlighting growth, fan engagement, and creative milestones. Some of the data stories creators will see include year-over-year gains across listeners and followers, their top episodes, deep dives into fan engagement, and their shows’ top countries.

Creators can access their custom Wrapped experience through Spotify for Creators.

For authors

More and more readers are falling in love with audiobooks, and Spotify is at the heart of this shift. For the first time, audiobooks will appear in the main Spotify Wrapped experience, highlighting how many titles a listener finished and their top audiobook and audiobook genre—a major moment of visibility for the format.

We’re also celebrating audiobook storytelling with our second-ever Wrapped for Authors, giving authors and publishers a deeper look at how their work connected with listeners around the world. This year’s experience is even more robust, offering new insights like an author’s most popular title among first-time audiobook listeners, their biggest and highest-growth markets, and the other music and podcasts their listeners love.

Eligible authors can head to Spotify for Authors to find their Wrapped experience, or work directly with their publishers.

For advertisers

Wrapped for Advertisers helps brands better understand their audiences through Spotify’s streaming intelligence. By turning listening trends into clear, useful data, Spotify Advertising gives marketers a simple way to see what’s connecting with Spotify fans and use those insights to plan and measure more effective campaigns. In 2025, the experience expands to reach more advertisers globally. Select advertisers will receive a personalized recap in the Spotify app (on both mobile and desktop), self-serve advertisers can explore their own experience in Spotify Ads Manager, and others will get theirs directly from their Spotify representatives. The data provides a unique look at an advertiser’s audience, which could include their top music and podcast genres, their mix of ad formats used, and more.

Select advertisers will receive their Wrapped experience directly, while others can find theirs in Spotify Ads Manager.

From artists to advertisers to fans, Wrapped is a moment for every part of the Spotify community.

VidCon 2025: Top Creators Join Spotify to Discuss the Impact of Video Podcasts

Last week, content creators from all over the world flocked to Anaheim for VidCon 2025, one of the largest creator conferences in the U.S. As an official sponsor, Spotify was part of the three-day experience, educating and entertaining attendees with a panel session, live podcast episodes, and more.

Top creators reveal how video podcasts help them grow

We kicked things off at VidCon with our panel discussion Press Play: Turning Views into Fandoms on Spotify. Moderated by Publish Press writer Hannah Doyle, and featuring Spotify Head of Podcast Product Maya Prohovnik, Sad Boyz host Jarvis Johnson, and The Unplanned Podcast’s Matt & Abby, the conversation offered an inside look at the positive impact of video podcasts on the platform, from audience growth to revenue streams.

“It’s undeniable the appetite consumers have for video,” Maya said during the discussion. “Video has roughly doubled the size of the podcast industry, and I think that’s really exciting for creators because it means you can reach way more people.”

Jarvis added that the appeal of video podcasts on Spotify is that they offer more ways to reach new viewers.

“Spotify bringing video to podcasts democratizes [the user experience across formats] by adding more ways for people to get [creator content] on the platform of their choosing,” he said. “It’s another reason for us to jump at the opportunity.”

Meanwhile, Abby offered her insights on video podcasting—not just as a creator, but how she connects with her favorite shows as a fan.

“[When I’m watching video podcasts] as a consumer, I’m like ‘Oh my gosh!’” she said. “I’ve laughed, and I’ve seen [hosts] cry. It’s a great aspect of video.”

Spotify presents the Podcast Theater at VidCon 2025

In addition to the panel session, we invited a number of creators to our Podcast Theater so they could record live episodes of their shows. VidCon attendees were able to sit in on recording sessions for Dropouts, No Filter With Zack Peter, The Unplanned Podcast with Matt & Abby, Much To Discuss…!, Created with Jon Youshaei, and more.

With another successful VidCon in the books, Spotify remains committed to building a sustainable ecosystem where creators can thrive. Whether it’s helping creators grow their audiences with new resources and programs or giving fans ways to connect with their favorite shows on a deeper level with new features, we’re excited for the future of video podcasts on Spotify.

Spotify Introduces Plays, a New Way To See What Content Is Resonating With Podcast Fans

Updated October 6, 2025: After testing with a select group of users, we’re now expanding podcast play count milestones more broadly across the Spotify app.

Updated May 16, 2025: We always aim to provide the best Spotify experience, and sometimes that means learning and adjusting as we go. Based on early signals, we’re evolving how play counts show up across Spotify. To help celebrate growth, plays will be presented as incremental milestones instead of precise figures, beginning once an episode hits 50K plays. Creators will still see their precise numbers in their private dashboards. While plays are already available to all creators and publishers in Spotify for Creator and Megaphone, this experience continues to be a gradual rollout across the Spotify app. For more on the latest, read here.

At Spotify, we always seek ways to connect users with their next favorite podcast episode. We also work to give creators a deeper understanding of how content resonates with audiences. That’s why we’re introducing plays, a new podcast metric designed to help users see, directly within the app, which podcast episodes are most popular with fans.

For creators, plays are a helpful addition to their existing metrics and offer a more comprehensive view of the scale of all episodes on our platform. This will be another invaluable source of insight as they look to optimize their content for success, so they can continue to build a loyal fan base that comes back week after week.

Plays will capture engagement across audio and video content on Spotify, reflecting the number of times people have actively listened to or watched any episode.

Starting this week, plays will be reflected across the Spotify app and in the Spotify for Creators and Megaphone dashboards.

A closer look at plays for creators

For creators, plays will be a key metric on the home dashboard, show overview, and individual episode analytics pages, offering a near-immediate snapshot of how content is performing based on active engagement. And because we want to give creators more comprehensive insight into the scale and depth of their audience, we’re also making consumption hour metrics available to all creators in Spotify for Creators, no matter where they’re hosted.

Existing monetization eligibility criteria and payout calculations for creators and publishers will remain unchanged. They will continue to be determined by streams and the podcast advertising industry standard of at least 60 seconds of engagement. For more details about how plays will work for creators and publishers, check out the latest on the Spotify for Creators blog.

Ultimately, plays will offer creators and their fans a clear way to measure which podcast episodes capture the most attention on Spotify. We’re always working to bring better insights to creators, foster greater discovery for people, and help content reach even wider audiences. Stay tuned for more.

The Spotify Partner Program Expands To Nine New Markets, Giving More Creators New Ways To Monetize Their Content

Since announcing the Spotify Partner Program last fall, we’ve heard from creators who are optimistic about the flexibility, control, and opportunity that our new monetization program provides. And following the successful January launch in the US, U.K., Canada and Australia, we’re expanding the Spotify Partner Program to nine new markets.

Starting April 29, eligible creators in France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Ireland, New Zealand, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland are able to enroll.

The Spotify Partner Program offers audience-driven payouts to creators from Spotify Premium video engagement and the ability to monetize via ads in Spotify Free and on all other podcast listening platforms. This can help creators navigate seasonality shifts and shifts in brand/advertiser interest and give them a more consistent, reliable way to earn.

As a brand-new revenue stream for enrolled shows, Spotify Partner Program delivered impressive results immediately. Hundreds of podcast creators surpassed $10,000 in monthly revenue, with the top earners crossing well into six figures in the first month alone.

Additionally, Spotify Partner Program creators in the US, Canada, UK, and Australia will have more opportunities to earn Premium video revenue for listeners in new markets starting on April 29.

Video podcasts are on the rise, and the number of creators actively publishing videos monthly on Spotify has grown by more than 50% year over year. Listeners are responding in kind, with over 250 million users having watched a podcast on Spotify, and nearly two-thirds of podcast listeners saying they prefer podcasts with video.

With more creators able to enroll in Spotify Partner Program, listeners will have access to a bigger and better catalog of video podcasts, as well as seamless background and foreground toggling. Premium users will also have the ability to watch videos with fewer ads. While a creator’s baked-in sponsorships will remain in the episode, traditional dynamic ads will not interrupt the video for Premium users, creating a seamless experience on any device.

“Spotify is committed to providing creators with more options to grow their audience and engage with fans on the format that best suits their style and show—either audio, video or both,” said Roman Wasenmüller, Head of Podcast Business at Spotify. “As we continue to evolve and expand the Spotify Partner Program, we are focusing on increased revenue and consumption for creators.”

Spotify has led audio streaming worldwide for nearly two decades. As video accelerates, we’re investing to make Spotify the video and audio destination for creators and listeners. With the Spotify Partner Program, we’re helping creators build and retain loyal audiences by delivering the best possible version of their content.

Spotify’s Partner Program Helps Creators Increase Revenue and Consumption of Video Podcasts

Last month, we officially launched the Spotify Partner Program, a powerful new monetization system for creators in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, and Australia. Just one month in, we’re already seeing the positive impacts on consumption and revenue growth for enrolled creators.

First announced at our Now Playing event, the Spotify Partner Program offers creators multiple revenue streams, including audience-driven payouts from Spotify Premium video engagement (in select markets), as well as ad monetization on Spotify Free and other podcast platforms. The flexibility gives creators greater control over their businesses, helping them adapt to shifts in the growing podcast audience while driving incremental revenue.

The results also speak for themselves: Spotify’s video podcast consumption is up more than 20% since the program’s launch, with payouts to creators in January increasing by 300% compared to the same period a year ago. In addition, hundreds of creators surpassed $10,000 in monthly revenue on Spotify in that same time, with the top earners crossing well into six figures in the first month alone.

Video podcasts that have experienced success through the Spotify Partner Program include Modern Wisdom, hosted by Chris Williamson, which increased consumption on Spotify by 36%; We’re All Insane, the mental health podcast hosted by Devorah Roloff, which earned more than $17,000; and Kinda Funny Gamecast, a video game podcast that’s earned $10,000.

As video consumption continues to grow on Spotify, we aim to give creators more opportunities to earn while giving our users a more seamless and delightful viewing experience.

The Spotify Partner Program Is Here, Offering New Ways for Creators to Monetize in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia

With more than 640 million users and more than 250 million subscribers, Spotify is one of the largest platforms in the world for creators. We’re also continuously building new offerings to help creators grow their audiences and better monetize their content on Spotify. Today, we officially launched the Spotify Partner Program, a powerful new monetization system for creators in the U.S., the U.K., Canada, and Australia.

First announced at our Now Playing event, this program gives eligible creators who host with us access to multiple revenue streams to help them transform their shows into sustainable businesses: audience-driven payouts from Spotify Premium video engagement, and the ability to monetize via ads in Spotify Free and on all other podcast listening platforms.

This dual approach gives creators greater flexibility and control, helping them navigate industry shifts and maintain consistent revenue streams. Users, meanwhile, benefit from enhancements to the viewing experience and a bigger and better catalog of video podcasts, and Premium users are able to watch without interruptions from third-party ads. While a creator’s baked-in sponsorships will remain in episodes, traditional dynamic ads will not interrupt the video for Premium users, creating a seamless viewing experience on any device.

Early success and creator optimism

Creators are embracing the opportunity for greater control over their businesses and the ability to deliver the best possible content to their fans, fostering loyalty and audience retention. Since we announced the Spotify Partner Program on November 13, more than 65% of eligible shows and networks have already enrolled. Here’s what we’re hearing:

    • Smart Money Happy Hour creators: “We’re thrilled to partner with Spotify as they build a phenomenal podcast experience for their users. Smart Money Happy Hour exists to make the lives of our fans better, and adding video on Spotify does just that. We love all of the product enhancements that are happening on Spotify, and we plan to use all of them to engage with our audience even more in 2025!”
    • The Paranormal Podcast host Jim Harold: “I’m thrilled to be one of the early participants in the Spotify Partner Program. The power of longform video on Spotify gives us access to new viewers while super-serving our loyal audio audience with an added dimension. It makes 2025 an exciting new year for The Paranormal Podcast. As usual, Spotify is at the forefront of innovation for both creators and their audiences.”
    • The Makeshift Podcast co-host Zach Misischia: “The new Spotify Partner Program has given us a way to monetize our podcast without interrupting the listener’s experience, which is extremely important to us since it can often deter listeners from continuing an episode.”

Because video is naturally growing in popularity across Spotify, we’re continuing to invest in ways to make the viewing experience more seamless and delightful for our users, and to allow creators to leverage the format for discovery and growth. Podcast clips, also unveiled at Now Playing, are short-form videos uploaded by creators that are recommended across Spotify surfaces, making it easier for users to discover new shows. Since launching the feature in select markets in November, we’ve seen that clips are 33% more effective than previews at converting browsers into potential listeners.

Our Wrapped for Creators Experience Toasts 2024 Podcast Listening

More than half a billion people have listened to a podcast on Spotify as part of their daily routines since 2019, proving that the medium is a favorite for listeners. And with more than 6 million podcasts on the platform, it’s clear that creators feel at home with us.

As the year comes to a close, our Wrapped experience celebrates the milestones, trends, and special creator/fan connection we saw with podcasts in 2024. For the first time ever, we’re introducing Your Podcast Clips so podcast fans can enjoy end-of-year messages from some of their favorite podcast creators, and we’re highlighting some of our top lists—breakout creators (more than half the podcasts that charted in 2024 were not on the charts in 2023!), top video podcasts, most anticipated podcasts, and more—for listeners in our Wrapped podcast editorial hub. We’re also giving podcast creators a chance to learn more about their audiences and milestones from the year with our sixth-annual Wrapped for Creators.

Let’s look back at what was trending in the podcast space in 2024 and what creators can expect to find in their Wrapped for Creators experience.

Trending…trending…1, 2, 3

Niche audiences are at the heart of podcasting. True crime buffs have Crime Junkie, Reddit lovers turn to Smosh Reads Reddit Stories, and sports fans get their fix with The Bill Simmons Podcast. The great thing about listeners’ having millions of shows at their fingertips on Spotify is that they can find like-minded individuals or experts talking about practically any subject of interest on a podcast.

As the podcast space continues to grow, we’re seeing the format evolve and video podcasts grow in popularity—in the past year, there’s been an 88% surge in users’ consuming video podcasts. With more than 300,000 video podcasts on Spotify, we’re giving fans a new way to enjoy their favorite shows, allowing them to feel like they are in the room with the host. The Joe Rogan Experience, Call Her Daddy, and Gemischtes Hack are three of the top video podcasts globally for 2024.

Personalized Wrapped experiences for creators

As podcast fans indulge in the revelation of their 2024 listening habits, creators can also dive deep into personalized data with Wrapped for Creators. This experience offers millions of podcasters a unique opportunity to celebrate their milestones from the past year and discover how their podcasts resonated with fans across the world.

“Wrapped for Creators helps podcasters better understand their global audiences, celebrate their fans, and see the macro trends that shaped our year,” said Jordan Newman, Head of Content Partnerships at Spotify. “Video has officially taken off, comments are fueling creator and fan connection, and more and more shows are gaining global fan bases.”

Biggest. Change. Ever. Go Inside Spotify for Creators, the New Home of Podcasting on Spotify

Big news for creators! Today marks the biggest update to podcasts on Spotify ever—including a new monetization program for video podcasts, improved analytics and audience growth tools, new ways to get your podcast discovered on Spotify, and an exciting evolution of the name and brand of our creator platform.

We’ve been in the podcast game since 2019, and while the podcast ecosystem is as vibrant as it’s ever been, the definition of a podcast is now more fluid. Creators are experimenting and engaging audiences in new ways through video, and podcast fans want the flexibility to seamlessly watch or listen to content depending on what they are doing. And it’s clear that video is growing: According to our most recent Fan Study, we’ve seen an 88% surge in users consuming video podcasts in the past year alone.

That’s why we’re announcing an exciting leap forward in our creator ecosystem: Spotify for Podcasters is evolving into Spotify for Creators. It’s a whole new chapter in our ongoing mission to give creators the tools to grow, monetize, and manage a show, whether it features audio, video, or both formats. And to mark this journey, we’ve launched a set of new features that make it easy to be successful on Spotify, no matter what type of show a creator has.

We sat down with Maya Prohovnik, Spotify’s Vice President of Podcast Product, to discuss what this means for creators.

Congratulations on this evolution, Maya! What’s driving these changes?

Thank you! It’s a big day for podcast creators on Spotify. We’ve seen some pretty major shifts across the industry in recent years. Creators are experimenting with different formats to draw in more fans, and audiences are changing their behaviors, too, by watching more of their favorite content instead of just listening. More than 250 million users have watched a podcast on Spotify, and nearly two-thirds of podcast listeners say they prefer podcasts with a video option! As podcasts and their creators evolve, so does Spotify.

We’ve updated the branding of our podcast creator platform from Spotify for Podcasters to Spotify for Creators because it better captures the expansiveness of whom we support today: It’s a platform for both audio and video creators to grow, monetize, and manage content on Spotify. We want to be clear that we’re supporting this evolution and this new generation of podcasters. We’ve massively upgraded our analytics and insights because we know how important understanding is for growth, and giving creators more data continues to be a big area of focus for us.

You mention video. Can you expand on that?

In general, we have been steadily investing in video because of its growing popularity on our platform, and we’ll always focus on things that we believe will make Spotify an even more powerful destination for creators and listeners. For creators, this has meant more tools to engage and connect with fans, better monetization opportunities, and more ways to be discovered and grow. For listeners, we’ve made some great enhancements to the viewing experience. They can still easily switch between watching or listening—whether they’re on Spotify Premium or Free—and now Premium subscribers can watch their favorite video shows uninterrupted by ads. We’re also giving them more ways to discover content because we know podcast fans are always looking for their next favorite show.

So, what does this all mean for the creator community?

We’ve launched some great things for creators today. As mentioned above, the biggest change is that eligible video podcasters now get to offer the best possible version of their content to Spotify Premium subscribers, who can watch it uninterrupted by ads. And they’ll get paid out by Spotify based on actual engagement, which is better for everyone. We’re really excited about this and think this will immediately translate to more audience growth and retention, as well as more revenue, for most video podcasters.

I think podcasters will love the updated Spotify for Creators. This is where any audio or video podcaster can upload their audio and video content, understand their performance with powerful new analytics, interact with their fans, and monetize their show. We’ve also launched new ways for creators to customize their content on Spotify to help them stand out and grow their audience.

And why should they choose Spotify?

In terms of Why Spotify, creators today should have their content wherever audiences are online. Spotify is one of the largest platforms in the world—we have more than 640 million users and more than 250 million subscribers. So I think the opportunity to reach new, highly engaged audiences is high. We also find that, generally, audiences on Spotify are more likely to stay loyal and return to a show they love, compared to other platforms that are more focused on driving users to viral content. But I don’t think it’s about choosing Spotify instead of other platforms; we understand that creators are multiplatform and multiformat, so our goal is just to make sure that access to Spotify and our audience is as easy as possible. We want every creator to have a path to success on our platform, and with today’s updates, we think that’s more true than ever before.

What changes are you most excited about?

I’m excited by the opportunities that the Spotify Partner Program—our powerful new monetization program for creators starting in the U.S., U.K., Canada, and Australia—will unlock. We built it to open more ways for them to earn for their work since we know that’s top of mind for many creators today. With this program, creators can earn a revenue share on ads played on or off Spotify, or they can earn based on how much Premium subscribers stream their video content. The video content will be uninterrupted by ads for Premium viewers.

I also really love our new promotional and discovery features, like custom video thumbnails and podcast clips that we believe will help drive new audiences to shows. We know that both video and audio podcasters are already making promotional clips for their social channels and now, for the first time, they can upload this short-form content directly to Spotify. We’ll surface these clips across Spotify with the goal of converting new potential audiences to stream the full-length episode. And there’s now a Following Feed so audiences can more easily find the content they already know and love, and creators can continue building their loyal fandoms.

We know this is just the start of great things ahead. How should prospective creators get started with Spotify?

I’d say head to creators.spotify.com to learn more and get started. We can’t wait to hear what you think of all these new features!
