Spotify Unites BAPE® and Central Cee to Bring Fans an Exclusive BAPE® x SYNA World Capsule Collection

Music and streetwear have always spoken the same language, and Spotify is turning up the volume. Together with A BATHING APE® (BAPE®), Central Cee (aka Cench), and his SYNA World label, we’re dropping a collaboration that blends sound, style, and street culture.

Central Cee serves as creative director for the BAPE® x SYNA World capsule collection, launching November 25. He brings his vision and SYNA World’s spirit of creativity, self-expression, and community to the collaboration, with every fit, fabric, and graphic thoughtfully designed for lasting impact.

Central Cee’s creative control extends across the campaign, from designing the collection to directing and producing the launch film. His artistic identity is front and center, amplified by the global reach and cultural influence of both BAPE® and Spotify.

Rewarding superfans at every turn

True to Spotify’s mission, fans are at the heart of this collaboration, and Spotify will provide the official soundtrack for the collection and campaign.

On September 24, Central Cee’s biggest fans in London will get exclusive in-store access to the first item from the collection, a special BAPE® x SYNA World tee, at the BAPE STORE® in London.

Spotify and BAPE® first teamed up in October 2024 with a debut collection featuring fresh takes on BAPE®’s legendary Shark Hoodie and College Tee—each streetwear icons for more than 20 years.

With Spotify at the center, this new collaboration with Central Cee promises more than just a collection, it’s a new way for artists and fans to connect through music, fashion, and community.

Spotify Teams Up With A BATHING APE® for a Celebration of Music and Streetwear

Earlier this year, Spotify teased a new partnership with A BATHING APE® (BAPE), and now both brands are coming together to celebrate the styles and sounds that shape global hip-hop music and streetwear culture.

The first joint project debuts today. Fans will find a reimagining of BAPE®’s iconic Shark Hoodie and College Tee—both staples in global streetwear for more than 20 years. The Spotify logo is infused with BAPE’s iconic camouflage design.

Spotify’s New Hardcore Gardening Playlist and Brain Dead Collab Will Rattle Greenhouses Everywhere

All around the world, millions of Spotify fans love listening to hardcore punk music—and some science shows that plants love it too.

Hold up. What?

Yep, you read that right. Horticulturist, author and lecturer Chris Beardshaw says that research shows hardcore music helps plants grow. Stacked against other sonic selections like classical and pop, plants nurtured by hardcore are stimulated into amplified growth.

“Surprisingly, a increasing body of research shows that the frequency of hardcore music helps plants grow,” Chris told For the Record. “The thumping, repetitive, high-decibel noise of hardcore stimulates and energizes plants cells, almost as if they’re bouncing around in a tiny hardcore mosh pit.”

But hardcore music isn’t just helping plants grow faster. The hardcore music scene is growing in recent years, including on Spotify, with a 50% increase in the creation of “hardcore music” playlists by Gen Z listeners.*

Known for its intensity, attitude, angst, grit, and DIY ethos, hardcore music is a fast-paced, adrenaline-fueled subgenre of punk rock that’s perfect for awakening your senses—and your plants. That’s why Spotify is launching Hardcore Gardening, a playlist full of hardcore music classics and fresh favorites.

Along with our newest playlist, we’re also teaming up with LA streetwear brand Brain Dead to launch Plant Growth Through Extreme Noise—a limited-edition apparel collection embodying the rebellious spirit of hardcore music.
