The 2025 Wrapped Guide for Artists, Songwriters, Creators, Authors, and Advertisers

Spotify Wrapped is the moment when hundreds of millions of fans around the world get to look back on their year in audio. But the celebration doesn’t stop with listeners. It extends across the entire Spotify ecosystem.

This year, we’re once again providing personalized Wrapped experiences for artists, songwriters, podcast creators, authors, and advertisers. With access to their own microsites, they can dive into how their work resonated with fans and audiences in 2025 and get unique, shareable data stories to post across their social channels.

Here’s what’s in store for each group.

For artists and songwriters

For the ninth year, we’re helping artists celebrate their year on Spotify and connect with their biggest fans. This year’s Wrapped for Artists experience is more intuitive than ever, with new data stories that give a deeper look into how an artist’s music resonated with listeners. We’ve also streamlined things so it’s easy to jump between stories and share faster.

New stories for 2025 include Top Albums and Super Listeners, which highlight the outsized impact of an artist’s most dedicated fans. Artists will also discover which of the new Wrapped Clubs their music belongs to and see Accolades—like “The Party Starter” and “The Early Riser”—which are determined by the streaming moments when their tracks really over-indexed with fans. Every data story includes a share card, making it easy for artists to highlight where their music was heard, how it grew, and whom it connected with.

For songwriters with an active Songwriter Page, Wrapped for Songwriters returns with a personalized, shareable overview of the year. We’ll also be celebrating songwriters across our social channels with behind-the-scenes content and more.

Artists can explore their 2025 Wrapped by heading to Spotify for Artists.

For creators

From chart-topping storytellers to emerging talent, audio and video creators on Spotify are driving the cultural conversation. Wrapped for Creators is our annual moment to celebrate the people behind the mic (and camera) and the loyal fans who tuned in.

This year’s experience transforms creator data into personal storytelling, highlighting growth, fan engagement, and creative milestones. Some of the data stories creators will see include year-over-year gains across listeners and followers, their top episodes, deep dives into fan engagement, and their shows’ top countries.

Creators can access their custom Wrapped experience through Spotify for Creators.

For authors

More and more readers are falling in love with audiobooks, and Spotify is at the heart of this shift. For the first time, audiobooks will appear in the main Spotify Wrapped experience, highlighting how many titles a listener finished and their top audiobook and audiobook genre—a major moment of visibility for the format.

We’re also celebrating audiobook storytelling with our second-ever Wrapped for Authors, giving authors and publishers a deeper look at how their work connected with listeners around the world. This year’s experience is even more robust, offering new insights like an author’s most popular title among first-time audiobook listeners, their biggest and highest-growth markets, and the other music and podcasts their listeners love.

Eligible authors can head to Spotify for Authors to find their Wrapped experience, or work directly with their publishers.

For advertisers

Wrapped for Advertisers helps brands better understand their audiences through Spotify’s streaming intelligence. By turning listening trends into clear, useful data, Spotify Advertising gives marketers a simple way to see what’s connecting with Spotify fans and use those insights to plan and measure more effective campaigns. In 2025, the experience expands to reach more advertisers globally. Select advertisers will receive a personalized recap in the Spotify app (on both mobile and desktop), self-serve advertisers can explore their own experience in Spotify Ads Manager, and others will get theirs directly from their Spotify representatives. The data provides a unique look at an advertiser’s audience, which could include their top music and podcast genres, their mix of ad formats used, and more.

Select advertisers will receive their Wrapped experience directly, while others can find theirs in Spotify Ads Manager.

From artists to advertisers to fans, Wrapped is a moment for every part of the Spotify community.

Spotify Invests €1 Million To Help Authors and Publishers Produce More Audiobooks

Since entering the audiobooks space in 2022, Spotify has positively impacted the industry, paying out hundreds of millions of dollars to rights holders on an annualized basis. In our more mature markets, audiobooks have also become one of the biggest sources of revenue growth for publishers.

Our data shows a significant increase in unique listeners who are discovering the magic of audiobooks for the first time via Spotify. By driving discovery and bringing in new audiences, we’re increasing overall audiobook consumption, which provides another avenue of growing revenue for authors and publishers.

Since launching Audiobooks in France and Benelux last October, we’ve seen an average month-over-month growth of 12% in listeners and listening hours. In France, we are continuing to bring a younger, more diverse audience to audiobooks, with nearly 60% of listeners aged 18 to 34 accounting for over half of all listening hours.

In order to continue to build opportunities for authors and publishers, especially in countries where the audiobook market isn’t yet mature, we want to support audiobook production. Today  we are announcing that we’re investing €1 million to increase the production of audiobooks in non-English languages, starting with French and Dutch.

This investment reinforces our desire to grow the market for authors and publishers, particularly in markets where audiobooks are still growing as a format, while improving the catalog and consumer experience.

“Our aim is to help create long-term value for the publishing industry and build new revenue streams for partners. To do that we must attract new audiences whilst also retaining existing book lovers, and audiobooks can play a key role in that. But at the heart of that must be great books. With less than 3% of French-language books available in audio format today, this is a great opportunity to help publishers and authors find new readers,” said Jérémy Amsellem, Audiobooks Partnerships and Licensing Manager for Europe.

Helping authors thrive

High production costs and slow market adoption have limited the number of non-English audiobooks available to listeners. In France, for example, there are approximately 750,000 titles in French, but approximately 20,000 audiobooks. In the Netherlands, there are approximately 15,000 audiobooks in Dutch from a total physical catalogue of 209,000.

Spotify believes in the power of human narration, and we will continue to work with partners and the narrator community to bring these titles to fans in French and Dutch languages. But we will also offer Digital Voice Narration as part of this investment to help make audiobook production more cost-effective for those partners who require a lower barrier to entry. For listeners, AI-narrated titles will be clearly identified in the description with “this audiobook is narrated by a digital voice.”

Finally, we know authors and publishers want to reach the widest possible audience. That’s why all cofunded audiobooks will be nonexclusive and made available on Spotify, with the option to host on any other major platform.

We want to create the best possible experience for authors, publishers, and listeners, and this investment marks another important steptoward introducing audiobooks to new audiences, diversifying our catalog, and providing more choices in more languages than ever before.

The Year in Audiobooks and How We’re Celebrating Spotify for Authors With a Special Wrapped Experience

From building a richer, more dynamic experience for listeners to expanding the data and promotional tools for authors and publishers, we’ve continued to keep “reading” top of mind on Spotify this year. And now, as we reflect back on 2024, it’s time to see what resonated with our listeners and how Wrapped for Authors has provided authors and publishers valuable insights into their work.

What listeners loved

It’s been a year since we launched Audiobooks in Premium, and both new releases and back-catalog titles from buzzworthy authors gained audiences across every genre on Spotify. If you’re looking for new audiobooks to add to your queue, discover the top global and U.S. audiobooks of 2024 here.

This year, we’ve also seen the boom of page-to-screen novels reflected in audiobook listening on Spotify. Colleen Hoover’s romance novel It Ends with Us and Gregory Maguire’s Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West are examples of acclaimed books that found their way to the big screen, and listens skyrocketed. James Clavell’s historical novel Shōgun saw a resurgence in popularity this year as its television adaptation kicked off in February. Other popular television shows based on books are George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood and Julia Quinn’s Romancing Mister Bridgerton

Wrapped for Authors

This year marks our first-ever Spotify Wrapped for Authors experience, giving eligible publishers and authors the opportunity to reflect on their achievements from 2024 through personalized data stories. Authors will receive insights about who their listeners are and how their audiobooks resonated with fans around the world, from the most popular time of day for consumption of their titles to the percentage of their audiences who started listening to an audiobook because of one of the author’s other titles.

For the Record talked with Rebecca McGuire, Manager for Audiobook Partnerships and Licensing at Spotify, to learn more about this year’s inaugural Wrapped for Authors.

What can authors expect to find in their Wrapped for Authors experience?

When we take a step back, there’s a lot to celebrate with audiobooks in 2024! We carried that spirit into the Wrapped for Authors experience; it’s a fun way to recognize authors, their work, and their fans. For the first time, publishers and authors can get access to their own personalized, one-of-a-kind data stories that give them a sense of how their audiobooks resonated with listeners around the world this year.

How does Wrapped help authors connect more deeply with their fans?

Spotify is very committed to helping authors build deeper connections—that commitment comes through in all of the tools and experiences we offer to our partners. For example, we launched Countdown Pages for audiobooks this year, which allows fans to presave upcoming audiobooks and count down to their release, which we know helps build hype and leads to more week-one streams. Wrapped for Authors is an extension of that work, providing the perfect opportunity for authors to learn more about and thank the fans who have listened and come along on their journeys!

What are some of the biggest Spotify audiobook highlights from the past year?

There is so much to celebrate. First, we’ve expanded audiobooks to more markets so more listeners around the world can benefit from our Audiobooks in Premium offer. We’ve launched powerful new tools for authors and publishers, including the recent addition of Spotify for Authors, our platform for them to gain marketing tools and insights on Spotify. And, as I mentioned earlier, we’ve doubled down on bringing authors and publishers closer to their fans. I had the privilege of attending our recent fan event in New York City with Coco Mellors of Blue Sisters, and it was very rewarding to see the magic between an author and her most devoted readers and listeners. Now I look forward to seeing how our partners across the industry enjoy their Wrapped for Authors experience.

What was the most memorable audiobook you listened to in 2024?

It was undoubtedly Dolly Alderton’s Good Material. I listened to it when it was first released in January, and I am still thinking about Jen and Andy and their hilariously tragic relationship woes that were masterfully brought to life by narrators Arthur Darvill and Vanessa Kirby. To me, the sign of a great audiobook is when you can’t imagine reading it in any other format. I literally laughed out loud while listening to this audiobook, and I am now a firm believer that Dolly’s snappy and hilarious dialogue simply must always be listened to!

And while there were certainly too many great audiobooks published in 2024 to count, I also love that back-catalog titles are finding great success on Spotify, creating pathways for authors to gain new audiences and giving listeners the ability to enjoy books of all kinds, right where they already are.

If you’re on the hunt for your next great audiobook listen, check out our first-ever Global Top Audiobooks in Premium of the Year list, led by 2024’s buzziest author, Sarah J. Mass, and her A Court of Thorns and Roses series (a series that I have personally listened to about 12 times). There are some great picks on there!

Audiobook Authors and Publishers Get a New Suite of Tools With the Launch of Spotify for Authors

Spotify’s audiobook catalog brings more than 300,000 titles—and counting—to the ears of listeners around the world. Now we’re launching a new platform to offer more for the authors and publishers behind the audiobook content we all love. Introducing Spotify for Authors.

Much like Spotify for Artists and Spotify for Creators, the new Spotify for Authors platform empowers authors and publishers with better tools and data to maximize their success on Spotify.

For publishers

We have worked alongside publishers to develop impactful tools that deliver better insights and growth for publishers and authors alike. For publishers, Spotify for Authors expands on the catalog management and royalty reporting currently offered in Passport, with insights and analytics to help them better understand their audiences and catalog consumption on Spotify. The platform also provides promotional tools to help publishers enhance their presence on Spotify and expand their listener bases.

For authors

For authors invited by publishers, Spotify for Authors offers direct access to industry-leading insights, as well as growth and promotional tools to help them grow their listeners and catalogs, including:

  • Aggregated age and gender demographics that provide more insight than ever before, to let them know who is listening to their content on Spotify.
  • Redemption codes to share royalty-free copies of titles with reviewers, superfans, and collaborators (if enabled by their publishers).
  • Promo cards to generate professional and shareable social assets for their titles in just one click.
  • Early access to author profiles, a new feature rolling out to Spotify so fans can easily discover more about the authors behind their favorite books.

For the Record caught up with Owen Smith, VP of Audiobooks Product and Technology at Spotify, to learn more about Spotify for Authors and what this new platform means for the people and teams behind the audiobooks listeners love.

What makes Spotify for Authors unique in the publishing industry?

We believe that one of the best ways to support authors and publishers is by giving them access to the right tools and data. With Spotify for Authors, we’re giving our partners across the audiobooks industry more comprehensive insights and marketing features to make the most of their presence on Spotify.

This platform is unique for the industry because it is built to support any author or publisher — we’re not gating any features or limiting them based on exclusivity. Our aim is to push the entire industry forward for the benefit of all authors and publishers, and we believe they need the right tools and technology to reach their maximum potential. We’re just beginning to roll out access to Spotify for Authors but are eager to see the impact a platform like this can have for publishers and authors of any size.

How will Spotify for Authors help publishers and authors reach new audiences?

The more we give rich and granular insights to publishers and authors, the more they can understand their audience and make strategic decisions about how to market their audiobook. For example, they can now see the age and demographic info of who is listening to their titles on Spotify, and also what genres of podcasts they’re listening to. This is important because podcasts are a big part of any book’s release campaign and ongoing success—so now they will have a better sense of what kinds of shows to target. I’m also excited to see authors leverage redemption codes to promote their titles and draw in new and existing fans.

How will Spotify continue to innovate and update its audiobook offerings?

With audiobooks, we know Spotify can uniquely reimagine the format, and Spotify for Authors is the foundation on which we’ll expand the much-requested creative options for authors and publishers. We have a lot in store for audiobooks on Spotify in 2025: bringing our partners better tools and more insights through Spotify for Authors so they can connect more authentically with their readers and fans, building richer and more dynamic experiences for listeners (like our follow-along experience we’re currently testing), and enhancing our discovery and cross-promotion efforts across content verticals to introduce new audiences to the format.

Lastly, I’ll say: We’ve worked closely with authors and publishers to develop Spotify for Authors, prioritizing what to build based on their feedback and needs, and will continue to iterate and partner with them along the way. So, if you’re an author or publisher using our tools, please send us your notes!

Today’s launch is just the first step as we help authors and publishers reach new audiences, connect more deeply with their fans, and drive listening.

Spotify for Authors is available in all Spotify markets, enabling authors and publishers to utilize Spotify’s tools regardless of where they publish from. Publishers can access Spotify for Authors with their Spotify logins and can invite authors to join at authors.spotify.com. We will be expanding access to authors using Findaway Voices early next year.
