Black Brazilian Artistry Takes Center Stage During AMPLIFIKA Day 2025
In cities across Brazil, a movement is growing that celebrates the power, beauty, and depth of Black creativity. AMPLIFIKA Day, now in its fifth edition, returns in 2025 with even more energy, connection, and purpose.
What began in 2021 as a music-focused event has become something bigger. It’s now a gathering space for Afro-Brazilian expression in all its forms. AMPLIFIKA Day brings together artists, fans, and cultural voices to honor the stories that shape Brazilian identity.
“AMPLIFIKA was born to give visibility to Black artists, but what we see today goes beyond that — it’s a cultural transformation. We’re celebrating not only art, but also the stories, places, and futures inspired by Brazilian Black music,” said Luciana Paulino, Head of Artist and Label Partnerships at Spotify Brazil. “It’s about creating real opportunities, strengthening creative communities, and ensuring that Afro-Brazilian voices are at the center of conversations about culture and innovation in Brazil.”
At its heart, AMPLIFIKA has always been about visibility and access. Its music program has helped launch the careers of standout artists like Duquesa, Mc Kadu, Milthinho, Cryzin, Maru2D, Sued Nunes, Bela Maria, Enme, Renan Oliveira, and Jotapê. Through workshops, mentorship, and performance opportunities, the initiative offers real support to emerging talent. It continues to show what’s possible when new voices are given the space they deserve.
But AMPLIFIKA Day is more than a stage. It’s a celebration, a learning space, and a cultural hub where music and movement come together. Whether through live performances, meaningful conversations, or unforgettable moments, the event is helping reshape how Black artistry is seen and valued in Brazil.
“Being part of AMPLIFIKA means having my journey validated and my voice amplified,” said rapper Jotapê. “It’s about recognizing who I am, what I sing, and most importantly, who I sing for. Black music is the soul of Brazilian music, and investing in it means keeping alive the flame that transforms realities and inspires futures. When we are heard, we exist — and that changes everything.”
It’s also part of a wider commitment from Spotify to uplift underrepresented voices. Programs like EQUAL, Glow, and AMPLIFIKA Creators have all created space for new perspectives in audio. AMPLIFIKA is a vital part of that story, supporting Afro-Brazilian artists as they lead, innovate, and inspire.
In 2025, AMPLIFIKA Day continues to grow with the same spirit that started it all. It remains driven by a belief in the power of creativity, the strength of community, and the pride that comes from sharing culture on one’s own terms.
