Spotify and The Game Awards Debut Gaming-Inspired Spotify Singles From Labrinth, Evanescence x GUNSHIP, and Bilmuri

Having the right song soundtrack your moves can make all the difference when gaming. That’s why we’ve teamed up with The Game Awards, airing live tonight, to put a spotlight on the composers and songs that define the gaming experience.

The Game Awards is a nod to the best developers, players, and cultural figures in the space. The event recognizes creative and technical excellence while also honoring those who positively impact the community and shape the future of the medium.

To get in the game, we’ve commissioned three brand-new Spotify Singles from artists who are also avid gamers. They’ve each put their unique spin on iconic gaming tracks, which are available to stream today exclusively on Spotify. Labrinth reimagines a classic from the world of Sonic, Bilmuri offers a fresh interpretation of a song from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, and Evanescence and GUNSHIP join forces for a rendition of a track from Devil May Cry.

Singer-songwriter Labrinth spoke of his childhood affinity for video games: “Sonic was such a formative part of my gaming upbringing that making a Spotify Single with Sonic at the heart was an amazing opportunity. I hope fellow Sonic fans check it out, along with the amazing music created by Bilmuri and Evanescence with GUNSHIP.”

“Gaming has always been a huge part of my life, and recording a track based on Cyberpunk: Edgerunners was a super-cool experience,” said Johnny Franck, singer of Bilmuri. “Some of my strongest memories of music come from the games I play, and I wanted to convey that energy with this Spotify Single.”

“We’ve been looking for an excuse to work with GUNSHIP for too long and couldn’t be more excited about this dark new version of ‘Afterlife,’” said Amy Lee of Evanescence. “Being a part of the Devil May Cry series has been an honor and too much fun. See you at The Game Awards!”

A shared commitment to game audio

Our dedication to the artists behind the music also extends to our sponsorship of The Game Awards’ Best Score and Music category. This partnership builds on our ongoing work within the gaming world, including collaborations with titles like EA FC 26, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, and Battlefield in 2025.

“The Game Awards is such a big celebration of gaming culture, and we felt it was the perfect moment to celebrate the composers, artists, and soundtracks that make video games so immersive,” said Alex Freeman, Music and Marketing Partnerships Lead at Spotify. “Through this partnership we wanted to give back to the fans who are at the heart of it all through the three amazing new Spotify Singles.”

“Video game music is the heartbeat of our industry, and partnering with Spotify lets us celebrate it on the world’s biggest audio stage,” said Geoff Keighley, host and creator of The Game Awards. “We’re thrilled to have Spotify lean in like this to not only celebrate but also amplify and accelerate the appreciation of some of this year’s best video game music.”
